PRESTON, Lancs. — Mark Rangeley scored 15 points on 6-of-15 shooting, but Lancashire lost 73-64 to Solent on Saturday in National League 1.

Jack Hudson, who left late in the fourth quarter with an injury, added 13 points for the Spinners (7-21, 6-17), who can maintain their NBL1 status with a win over Essex on Sunday at Myerscough College.

Lancashire trailed 65-63 when Jorge Ebanks was assessed a technical foul following his layup. Hudson exited the game and the Spinners were outscored 8-2 over 4:02, as they went 0-for-7 from the field.

Ebanks scored 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting to lead the Kestrels (19-12, 15-9), who shot 46 percent and outscored Lancashire 48-36 inside the paint and 21-10 on points off turnovers.

Connor Murtagh and David Ulph combined for 21 points for Lancashire, which led 37-36 at halftime.

The Spinners led 54-44 with 3:53 remaining in the third quarter, but a 9-0 Solent run cut the lead to one heading to the fourth. Ebanks’ layup then broke a 61-all tie and the Kestrels didn’t trail again.
