Freya Noble of Spinners has been selected for the England U14 team to play in the Copenhagen Invitational Tournament (the one we are going to but a different section-national teams only). She was selected following a tough 3 day selection camp at the National Basketball Performance Centre, Belle Vue. Freya is a dynamic athlete who is an disruptive defender and very effective on the break.

Spinners U16 Girls News
On Saturday April 6 Spinners U16 Girls for 2019/20 travelled to play a friendly v Liverpool Basketball Club U16. The team was weaker than normal being made up of just two U15’s, Scarlett Lindsay (8) and Becky Smith (25), supplemented by some U14’s, Grace Elder#9, Abbie Johnson #23, Darcie Lindsay #8, Evie Matthews #4, Pauline Tyshykia #10, Zara Uwangho #33.
The team were given the full LBC treatment and announced individually to the crowd before the game.
After a slow start in which Spinners fell behind early they soon came to grips with Liverpool and by half time had pulled ahead through strong play from Scarlett Lindsay and domination of the boards by Becky Smith.
In the 3rd quarter Spinners showed what they were capable of, playing tough defence and launching their fast break at will. Grace Elder and Pauline Tyshykia ran the lanes beautifully and picked up easy baskets. as Spinners took complete control.
In the final quarter Spinners remained in comlete control and were able to give everyone plenty of court time running out easy winners 73-35.

Mark Rangeley scored 24 points and David Walsh added 23 for Lancashire, who held off Hemel for a 90-88 road win. Jack Hudson and Connor Murtagh combined for 29 points.

Jack Hudson had 18 points and Lancashire defeated Manchester, which ended the Magic’s 13-game winning streak dating back to last season. Mark Rangeley added 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Jack Hudson scored a game-high 21 points, but the Spinners were dispatched by the Loughborough Student Riders 89-67 at the Netball and Badminton Centre.
Oct 22, 2016 – LAN 78, WOR 74 (W)
Jack Hudson had 20 on 8-of-18 shooting, seven assists and six rebounds in a narrow 78-74 win at Worthing. David Ulph finished with his second double-double of the season.
Oct 16, 2016 – LAN 119, LIV 50 (W)
David Walsh scored 27 points and James Banton added 20 to lead the Spinners to their largest victory in team history and into the National Cup fourth-round.
